448 Kazakh Students Take Historic Military Oath in Astana's Capital Ceremony
A historic oath-taking ceremony took place in Astana as 448 students from K. Kulazhanov Kazakh University of Technology and Business pledged allegiance to the Republic of Kazakhstan. This marked the first time students in the reserve officer training programme formally swore their military oath in the capital. The event followed strict military traditions. It began with the presentation of the national flag and the singing of Kazakhstan’s national anthem. Veterans of the country’s Armed Forces and officials from government agencies attended the ceremony.
All 448 participants had completed their training at the university’s military department, which includes students from nine universities across Astana. To reinforce military-patriotic values, a mobile exhibition from the Military-Historical Museum was set up for the occasion. Parents of the highest-achieving students were also recognised. The university president personally handed them letters of appreciation during the ceremony.
The ceremony solidified the commitment of 448 new reserve officers to Kazakhstan’s defence. Their training, spanning multiple universities in Astana, now prepares them for future service. The inclusion of historical exhibits and official recognition highlighted the event’s significance in fostering military patriotism.
