Reservists complete rigorous 10-day military training in Kazakhstan's south

A ten-day military training programme for reservists in the Southern Regional Command’s Territorial Defense Brigade has ended. The course covered 18 disciplines and involved 120 participants. It aimed to sharpen their readiness for national defence duties. The reservists underwent intensive instruction in safeguarding critical infrastructure. They also trained in coordinating defensive operations and repelling mock enemy assaults. Firearms practice was a key component, with participants completing qualification shoots.

The programme concluded with tactical drills at the Orda training ground. Lieutenant Colonel Talgat Mazhimbekov, brigade commander, reminded the reservists of their responsibilities to the country. Amantai Akimkulov, an aide to the Turkestan Region governor, commended the brigade’s leadership for their professional training methods.

Throughout the course, reservists kept their civilian jobs. They received financial compensation, full uniforms, and daily meals as part of the programme’s support. The training reinforced the role of Territorial Defense as a vital element of national resilience. Reservists now have enhanced skills in securing strategic sites, manning checkpoints, and countering simulated threats. Their preparedness contributes directly to broader defence capabilities.
