Khabarovsk Territory unveils bold cultural expansion with festivals and new venues

The Khabarovsk Territory government has outlined key cultural developments for the region. Plans include new infrastructure, festivals, and repairs to existing institutions. A recent meeting of the government’s presidium highlighted these initiatives. A new social and cultural centre will be built in Kukan village by the end of 2027. The project carries a price tag of over 195 million rubles. Meanwhile, the Far Eastern Art Museum is set for completion by late 2029, pending an expert review.

Nine cultural institutions are scheduled for major repairs in 2027. Contracts for seven of these have already been signed. The region also continues its Cultural Tours programme, with over 350 tours organised annually. In 2027, the Khabarovsk Regional Musical Theater will perform in Sergeyevka and Krasnaya Rechka.

The First Regional Patriotic Song Festival for Children and Youth will take place on September 10, 2027. Applications for participation are open until July 1, 2027. The event will feature top regional ensembles at the City Palace of Culture. Governor Dmitry Demeshin stressed that the festival should serve as a genuine competition to highlight the talents of the region’s children.

The Regional Culture Minister also reported on other major events. These include AmurFest, the Karagod Festival, and EthnoFest: Land of the Black Dragon. The cultural developments aim to enhance the region’s artistic and social infrastructure. New facilities, repairs, and festivals are expected to provide more opportunities for local talent. The initiatives reflect ongoing efforts to support cultural growth in Khabarovsk Territory.
