Vladivostok's Iconic Promenades Get a Modern Makeover by August

Two major promenades in Vladivostok are undergoing significant renovations. Work on Kirov Street and Ivanovskaya Street is set to finish by the end of summer. Both areas will open to residents in the second half of August. The decision to develop the Ivanovskaya Street promenade came from a public vote in 2025. A technologically advanced sidewalk now runs along the street, ensuring comfortable access to the parking area. Near the Gaidamak bus stop, a vacant lot is being turned into a recreational space with paving stones laid down. Before the year ends, a bus shelter for the Pacific Fleet Hospital stop and a pedestrian crossing will also be added.

On Kirov Street, progress includes installed staircases and prepared bases for the final surface layer. Paving stones and rubberised flooring will be laid soon. The central section has been graded, soil compacted, and drainage installed. Once complete, the promenade will feature a continuous running track, outdoor workout zones, ping-pong tables, and children’s playgrounds. The upgrades will provide improved access and new amenities for local residents. Both promenades are scheduled to open in mid-August, transforming these areas into modern, functional public spaces.
