Magadan Oblast Selects Eight Urban Projects After Record Voter Turnout

The 6th All-Russian online vote for urban improvement projects has concluded. Magadan Oblast has selected eight winning initiatives for priority funding, with work set to begin in 2027. The vote saw a significant increase in participation compared to previous years. The nationwide 'Comfortable Urban Environment' project was started by United Russia in 2017. It now operates under the presidential national project 'Infrastructure for Life'. The Ministry of Construction and Housing oversees the initiative, with support from United Russia and FKGS volunteers.

In Magadan Oblast, all municipal districts took part in the vote, including the city of Magadan and seven others. Residents cast their ballots from 21 April to 12 June 2026, with final results announced on 22 June. A total of 15,213 people in Kolyma participated, nearly 4,000 more than in 2025.

The most popular project was Magadan’s 'Memory Alley', which received 5,870 votes. United Russia co-authored the initiative and assisted with local voting efforts. Eight projects in Magadan Oblast will now receive priority funding. Transformations are scheduled to start in 2027. The increased voter turnout reflects growing public engagement in shaping local urban spaces.
