Sber Revives Russia's Scientific Legacy with AI-Powered Digital Tribute

Sber has announced its participation in the Technological Legacy project. The initiative aims to preserve the memory of Russia’s most influential scientists and their contributions. Modern technology will play a key role in bringing their stories to life. The project involves gathering archival documents, photographs, publications, and personal memoirs linked to prominent researchers. These materials will form the basis of a virtual avenue of scientists, alongside educational resources for the public.

Sber specialists will create AI-powered digital representations of each scientist to share their stories in an engaging way. Regions such as Saratov, Ivanovo, Kursk, Novosibirsk, Tula, Bashkortostan, and St. Petersburg have already joined the effort.

The Agency for Strategic Initiatives and the Roscongress Foundation are organising the forum, with VEB.RF and the Nizhny Novgorod regional government as co-organisers. The outcomes of the project will be showcased at the closing event of the Strong Ideas for a New Era forum on 10–11 August in Nizhny Novgorod. Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of Sberbank, views the project as a chance to safeguard and share Russia’s scientific heritage through technology. Svetlana Chupsheva, Director General of ASI, stresses the need to preserve the knowledge and legacy of these scientists for future generations.
