UAE and Qatar Strengthen Security Ties With Landmark Agreement

The UAE and Qatar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost security ties. The agreement covers six joint projects aimed at improving cooperation between the two nations. Officials from both countries gathered in Qatar to formalise the deal. Major General Khalifa Harib Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Interior, signed the MoU during an official visit to Doha. Abdullah bin Khalaf bin Hattab Al-Kaabi, Undersecretary of the Qatari Ministry of Interior, received the UAE delegation for the ceremony.

The agreement outlines six key security projects. These include linking networks, sharing electronic data on traffic violations, and connecting traffic systems. It also covers the transfer and recovery of financial penalties for traffic offences. Additionally, the MoU enables the electronic exchange of data and fingerprints between the two countries.

The document aims to strengthen security coordination and information sharing. It also seeks to protect data linked to joint security initiatives. Both ministries hope to use advanced technology to enhance stability and efficiency in their collaboration. The MoU establishes a framework for deeper security integration between the UAE and Qatar. It paves the way for improved exchange of expertise and resources. The projects will focus on modernising systems and securing shared data.
