CPRF nominates Ayaan Vasilyev for Yakutia in 2026 Duma elections

The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) has nominated its candidates for the upcoming State Duma elections. The vote is set to take place on September 20, 2026. Among the nominees is Ayaan Vasilyev, who will run in the single-mandate district for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The CPRF finalised its list of candidates during the party’s 19th Congress. Vasilyev was officially selected to represent Yakutia in the election. His registration with the region’s Central Election Commission will be completed once the campaign period starts.

The party also revealed its regional list for Yakutia. Five candidates were approved for the 14th territorial group. Vasilyev will compete against other party representatives, including Pyotr Shamoyev of United Russia and Fedot Tumusov of A Just Russia. The State Duma elections will proceed as planned on September 20, 2026. Vasilyev’s candidacy marks a key step for the CPRF in the Yakutia district. The official campaign will begin once all registrations are finalised.
