Primorsky Krai cracks down on farmers defying livestock vaccination rules

Russian agricultural authorities have stepped up enforcement of veterinary regulations in Primorsky Krai. As of 15 June 2025, Rosselkhoznadzor issued over 230 warnings to private farm owners for refusing mandatory procedures. The crackdown follows repeated violations, including failures to vaccinate, register livestock, or allow inspections. On 15 June alone, officials issued 11 warnings to farmers for refusing preventive measures or for not registering animals in the 'Khoriot' system. Among those penalised was B.I. Nurmotov from Pavlovka, who blocked access to 69 head of cattle for leptospirosis vaccination and registration. He also moved 72 cattle onto his farm and transported 86 out without notifying authorities or obtaining the required certificates.

Another farmer, Kh.Kh. Amonov from Grigoryevka, received a warning after 24 head of cattle went missing from his farm during an active disease outbreak restriction. The total number of warnings in 2025 for vaccination and registration refusals has already surpassed the previous year’s figure.

To address the issue, regional authorities are running outreach campaigns to improve compliance. The problem of epizootic safety was also discussed at a recent meeting between Andrey Krasnoperyov and Kirill Khizhinsky. The rising number of warnings signals stricter enforcement of veterinary rules in Primorsky Krai. Farmers now face greater scrutiny over vaccination, registration, and movement of livestock. Authorities continue to push for better adherence to regulations to prevent disease spread.
