Women stargaze and connect at Isle of Man's 'Reach for the Stars' event

The Level Up Club recently hosted a special event called 'Reach for the Stars' at the Isle of Man Astronomical Society Observatory. The gathering brought together women in their 20s and 30s for an evening of creativity, connection, and stargazing. Guests were guided by members of the Isle of Man Astronomical Society and Howard Parkin of AstroManx. During the event, attendees had the chance to view the cosmos through the society’s telescopes for the first time. They also connected with each other while exploring the Manx night sky. The aim was to inspire new ideas, foster connections, and boost confidence among the participants.

A highlight of the evening was a special video message from NASA astronaut Nicole Stott. She spoke about the importance of nurturing creativity, curiosity, and courage in daily life. Stott also emphasised unity and support among women, comparing Earth’s inhabitants to 'crewmates' working together. The Level Up Club plans to expand its programme of creative and confidence-building events in 2026. The success of 'Reach for the Stars' reflects the club’s commitment to empowering women through unique and inspiring experiences. More events like this are expected to follow.
