Heavy trucks destroy dacha road, leaving residents stranded and demanding action

Residents of the Namtsyrsky Tract dacha community are raising concerns over the state of their local road. Heavy trucks hauling sand from a nearby quarry have caused severe damage, leaving the surface unsafe for passenger vehicles. Buses have stopped using the route due to the poor conditions. The damage stems from 40-ton Shacman trucks operated by a private mining company. These vehicles have created deep fissures on the uphill stretch, making it hazardous for lighter vehicles. Some trucks have even become stuck, blocking traffic entirely.

Local residents argue the mining company should fund repairs as part of its corporate responsibilities. In response, the city administration has put forward a plan. Road crews will be sent once the weather improves and the surface dries out. Officials also propose introducing weight checks for trucks and opening discussions with the company about long-term maintenance. The road remains in a dangerous state, with buses no longer running and passenger cars struggling to pass. Repairs are planned, but residents continue to push for immediate action and ongoing upkeep. The city’s proposals aim to address both the current damage and future prevention.
