Magadan women receive free IVF and fertility consultations from top specialist

Free reproductive health consultations were recently held in Magadan for local residents. Anastasia Denisovna Alekseeva, a specialist from St. Petersburg’s EmbryLife Reproduction Center, provided in-person advice on fertility and IVF. The sessions took place on April 20–21, 2026, with 27 women attending. During the consultations, five women received recommendations for further examination and surgical treatment. Another five sought guidance specifically on frozen embryo transfer. Additionally, 17 women from the Kolyma region were approved for IVF under Russia’s mandatory health insurance scheme.

Infertility is diagnosed after 12 months of regular unprotected intercourse for couples under 35. For women over 35, the diagnosis is made after just six months. Male factors contribute to infertility in 50–60% of cases, while female factors account for 40–50%. In 20–30% of cases, both partners have contributing issues.

Russia’s mandatory health insurance covers IVF for couples with a confirmed infertility diagnosis. Residents of Magadan can also access free online consultations with reproductive specialists from EmbryLife. Across the country, one in six or seven couples faces infertility challenges. The consultations in Magadan provided direct support to women seeking fertility treatments. Five were advised on surgery, and 17 received IVF approval under insurance. These measures aim to address the widespread issue of infertility in Russia.
