Qatar University and Es'hailSat unite to advance nanosatellite innovation

Qatar University has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Es'hailSat to advance nanosatellite technology. The partnership aims to boost scientific research and technological development in the space sector. Both parties will work together on joint projects in satellite design and deployment. The initiative began in 2018 when Qatar University launched its nano-satellite development programme. It involved multi-disciplinary student projects and research funded by the Qatar Research, Development & Innovation Program. The university also hosts the country’s only academic satellite ground station.

Under the new agreement, the two organisations will collaborate on nanosatellite missions. They will share expertise, technical knowledge, and resources. The focus will be on scientific research, technological development, and STEM outreach.

Mr. Hamad Omar Al Mannai expressed satisfaction with the partnership. He stated it would enhance the university’s efforts in nanosatellite technology. Prof. Aiman Erbad added that the collaboration reinforces Qatar University’s commitment to expanding space research. The agreement combines Qatar University’s academic and research strengths with Es'hailSat’s satellite operations expertise. It supports the development and deployment of nanosatellite technology in Qatar. The partnership marks a key move to strengthen the country’s position in the space sector.
