Hospitals struggle as SHA system failures disrupt patient care nationwide

Hospitals across the country are facing delays in healthcare services due to ongoing technical issues. The problems stem from persistent glitches in the Social Health Authority (SHA) system. These disruptions have now lasted for about a week. The SHA system’s faults are causing delays in sending One-Time Passwords (OTPs) to patients. These passwords are essential for identifying individuals and authorising their treatment. As a result, healthcare facilities and the Digital Health Agency (DHA) have switched to manual processes.

Health providers report that these manual methods are much slower. They warn that the situation is leading to delayed patient care. Concerns have grown as the downtime continues without resolution. The ongoing SHA system issues have forced a return to paper-based workflows. This has slowed down service delivery in hospitals nationwide. The delays in OTPs remain a key obstacle to restoring normal operations.
