Pleo has announced a new suite of AI agents designed to automate routine spend management tasks. The move aims to free up finance leaders for more strategic decision-making. The agents will be integrated into the Pleo app and web platform, with beta testing set to begin in July. Pleo’s customer base of 40,000 businesses has pushed the company to expand beyond expense management into full cash management. The new AI agents are part of this evolution, offering specialised support for financial workflows. These include the Policy Agent, Pleo MCP-Next, AP Agent, Treasury Agent, and Accounting Agent.

The agents are built for competence rather than charm, ensuring reliability at every level. They will be accessible within the Pleo app, web experience, and via the Pleo MCP server. This development comes as 78% of finance professionals believe AI understanding is critical for the future of finance.

Current financial processes are often seen as slow, with 49% of UK companies reporting inefficiencies. Additionally, 68% of finance professionals lack the AI skills, training, and confidence needed to adopt such tools. The beta launch in July marks the next step in Pleo’s push to streamline financial operations. The AI agents are expected to reduce administrative burdens for businesses already using the platform.
