Germany's Rail Network Grinds to a Halt After Major Technical Failure

A major technical failure late in the evening halted rail traffic across Germany. Travellers at stations faced long delays and uncertainty as services ground to a stop. Dominick and Selina, heading from Reutlingen to Berlin, faced uncertainty over whether their train would depart. The first service to resume was the train to Cologne via Mannheim and Frankfurt Airport, which left just after midnight. The technical failure caused widespread disruption to rail services. Travellers relied on alternative transport and staff assistance to continue their journeys. Normal service resumed only after midnight with the departure of the first train.
