Krasnodar students learn civic duties in Znanie's new educational series

The Russian Society Znanie has launched a series of educational events for schoolchildren in Krasnodar Region. These sessions form part of the national project Youth and Children. The latest lecture focused on the rights and responsibilities of Russian citizens. Sergei Yakovlev, a member of the Krasnodar Regional Election Commission, led the event. He spoke about the history of elections and the importance of voting rights. He described elections as a key civic duty that influences the future of cities, regions, and the country.

Yakovlev also explained how legal rights grow with age. He outlined specific responsibilities at 10, 14, and 16 years old, noting that receiving a passport at 14 introduces new rights and obligations. The discussion also covered adolescent rights and accountability for their actions.

The lecturer encouraged students to engage in public life through various organisations. He highlighted opportunities to join initiatives and competitions run by the regional election commission. The event was part of the Holidays with Znanie project, which includes summer lectures on different topics. The session aimed to educate young people about their civic rights and duties.
