71 Emmendingen students honored at 2026 European Student Competition
Seventy-one students from the Emmendingen district received recognition at the 2026 European Student Competition. The event celebrated their creative projects on themes like human rights, equality, and democracy. The awards were presented during a shared ceremony with the Ortenau district at Europa-Park. A total of 196 pupils from 11 schools in the Emmendingen district took part in the contest. They submitted entries in various formats, including paintings, films, stories, posters, poetry slams, and musical pieces. All projects addressed the competition’s theme, 'Your Europe: Rights, Respect—Reality?!'.
Winners hailed from Denzlingen, Emmendingen, Endingen, Malterdingen, Sasbach, and Teningen. Together, they secured 49 local prizes and 22 regional awards. However, no national prizes were won by the district this year.
Rheinauen Primary School in Sasbach stood out with 21 awards. Malterdingen Primary School followed closely with 18 distinctions. The ceremony highlighted the students’ engagement with important social issues. Their work showcased creativity and a deep understanding of European values. The district’s participants returned with a total of 71 accolades.
