Primorye revives 17 pre-revolutionary landmarks in bold restoration push

A major restoration project is underway in Primorye Territory. It targets 17 historic landmarks, including pre-revolutionary estates, military installations, and industrial buildings. Many of these sites have been abandoned for decades and now require urgent attention. The project covers monuments in Vladivostok, Ussuriysk, and the Khasansky District. These buildings hold unique stories linked to railways, medicine, and the founding of cities. Others are tied to merchant dynasties, military garrisons, and public institutions.

Funding for the work comes from an investor support programme. The aim is to renovate the sites and adapt them for modern use. Once restored, they could become cultural hubs, public spaces, hotels, or educational centres.

All selected landmarks date from the pre-revolutionary era. The project seeks to bring them back into urban life while preserving their historical value. The restoration will give new purpose to long-neglected buildings. The sites are expected to serve the community in various ways once the work is complete.
