Teen Hospitalized After Drinking Gasoline While Fixing Scooter

A 16-year-old boy in Primorsky Territory was hospitalised with acute gasoline poisoning. The incident occurred while he attempted to siphon fuel from a canister using his mouth during scooter repairs. He ingested a large amount of fuel, leading to severe poisoning. The boy was rushed to Nakhodka City Hospital around 3.5 hours after the incident. Doctors initially placed him in intensive care before moving him to the pediatric ward. Medical staff are closely monitoring his condition to prevent complications.

The Primorsky Territory Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation. Authorities will examine the actions of child welfare and juvenile delinquency prevention agencies. They will also review the teenager’s living conditions and upbringing.

Gasoline exposure can severely damage the liver, kidneys, and central nervous system. It may also cause chemical pneumonia, which can lead to respiratory failure. The boy remains under medical supervision as doctors assess his recovery. The investigation will determine whether negligence or oversight contributed to the incident.
