Daniyar Kurmankulov, a cadet at Kazakhstan’s Military Institute of Radio Electronics and Communications Engineering, has won the international contest Best Student of the CIS-2026. His victory follows the development of an advanced signal-jamming device designed to enhance military security. The invention has already earned recognition from Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee Academy. Kurmankulov created a smart, multifunctional jammer that selectively blocks enemy signals. It leaves a secure channel open for Kazakhstan’s special services and military. The device works with precision, disrupting Wi-Fi, satellite communications, mobile networks, and drone frequencies within a 2.5-3 kilometre radius.

The technology can also deceive enemy systems. It transmits false coordinates to drone locators and replaces real object locations on the 2GIS mapping platform with decoy data. Available in mobile and stationary versions, it features encrypted circuitry and operates autonomously for up to 3.5 hours.

His achievements extend beyond this invention. Kurmankulov received a first-degree diploma for his scientific research, public engagement, and contributions to youth policy in the Commonwealth of Independent States. He was also named Best Inventor by Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee Academy. Currently, he is developing an intelligent system to manage unmanned aerial vehicles, distinguishing between friendly and hostile drones in the airspace. The device and its capabilities have positioned Kurmankulov as a leading innovator in military technology. His ongoing work on drone management systems further demonstrates his commitment to advancing Kazakhstan’s defence capabilities. The recognition from national and international bodies underscores the significance of his contributions.
