Abandoned and Undocumented: 11-Year-Old Girl Left in Legal Limbo by Neglectful Family

An 11-year-old girl in the village of Vavilovo, Bashkortostan, has never attended school and lacks any official documents. Locals claim her mother has shown no interest in registering her or providing proper care. The child is one of 13 siblings in a family already known to authorities for neglect concerns.

The girl's family has long faced criticism from neighbours. Reports suggest the children began drinking alcohol at a young age, while the mother has been accused of failing to raise them properly. Despite repeated complaints, child protective services and school officials have not taken action.

The father does not live with the family, leaving them dependent on volunteers and neighbours for food and clothing. Schoolchildren in the village reportedly avoid sharing a bus with the family due to fears of aggressive behaviour. Authorities previously fined the parents 500 rubles in 2021 for improper child registration, but no further steps were taken. Social services have conducted welfare checks in the past, yet the youngest daughter remains without a birth certificate or legal records. Locals say the mother has made no effort to change the situation, leaving the child in a state of legal and educational limbo.

The case highlights ongoing concerns about child welfare in Vavilovo. Without intervention, the girl remains unregistered, unschooled, and dependent on community support. Authorities have yet to address the repeated warnings from residents or enforce stronger measures.
