Apple dominates Q4 2025 tablet sales as Lenovo surges past Huawei
The global tablet market experienced a robust conclusion in the final quarter of 2025, with 43.8 million units sold. This figure represented over a quarter of the year's total shipments. Growth was fueled by increasing demand in Central and Eastern Europe as well as the Asia-Pacific region.
Apple led the market in Q4 2025, selling 19.6 million iPads and securing a 44.9% share. The company's sales and market position both improved compared to the same period in 2024.
Samsung followed with 6.4 million units sold, capturing 14.7% of the market. However, its figures indicated a decline from Q4 2024.
Lenovo solidified its third-place ranking by shipping 3.865 million tablets, giving it an 8.8% share. The brand's Q4 sales surged by 36.2% year-on-year, continuing a trend of strong growth across the first three quarters of 2025. This performance allowed Lenovo to overtake Huawei, which saw a smaller 14.8% increase in Q4 and lost its third-place position by year-end.
Industry analysts caution that 2026 may bring challenges. The persistent memory chip shortage may exert pressure on production, potentially reducing shipment volumes in the coming year.
The tablet market concluded 2025 with a bustling final quarter, led by Apple's dominance and Lenovo's rapid growth. Yet, supply chain issues threaten to slow momentum in 2026. Manufacturers will need to navigate chip shortages to maintain shipment levels.
