Arm's Stock Surges 14% After HSBC's Bullish AI-Driven Upgrade

Arm's stock price jumped by over 14% after HSBC analyst Frank Lee upgraded its rating to 'buy'. The move came alongside a doubled price target of $205, reflecting growing confidence in the company's future. Lee argues that Wall Street is underestimating how AI will boost Arm's business in the years ahead.

Over the past three years, Arm's presence in server CPUs for AI has expanded rapidly. Its market share climbed from under 5% in 2023 to around 25–30% by early 2026. This growth was driven by adoption from major players like NVIDIA, AWS, and Google, all seeking energy-efficient solutions for AI training and inference.

GPUs initially led the AI boom due to their parallel processing strengths. But CPUs are now gaining ground, offering better energy efficiency and lower costs for certain AI workloads. Arm's server CPU royalty revenue is expected to rise sharply, with Lee forecasting a 76% annual increase over the next five years. By fiscal 2031, this revenue stream could reach roughly $4 billion. The surge in demand for high-performance, energy-efficient processors positions Arm well for long-term growth. Lee's upgraded price target, though ambitious, might still prove conservative if AI adoption accelerates further.

Arm's stock rise follows a stronger outlook tied to AI-driven server CPU demand. The company's expanding market share and projected revenue growth suggest a positive trajectory. Investors are now watching whether Arm can sustain this momentum as AI infrastructure evolves.
