Astana Police bring anti-drug education to workplaces under Law and Order initiative

Astana Police have expanded their drug prevention efforts to include workplaces as part of the Law and Order initiative. A recent seminar at the State Enterprise 'Main Dispatch Office of the State Revenue Committee' educated employees on drug-related threats and ways to protect families from them. The event also highlighted the city’s wider anti-drug operations and legal consequences for involvement in the illegal drug trade. The seminar focused heavily on family safety, teaching parents how to spot early signs of children being drawn into drug trafficking. Officers explained recruitment tactics, including the use of social media and messaging apps, and urged parents to monitor their children’s online activity. Open communication between parents and children was also encouraged as a key prevention strategy.

Attendees were briefed on Astana’s ongoing anti-drug campaigns, which aim to boost legal awareness and community resistance to drug offences. Participants had the chance to ask questions and receive practical advice on shielding children from drug-related dangers. The session was part of the Comprehensive Plan to Combat Drug Addiction for 2026–2028, reinforcing the city’s commitment to long-term prevention. The event forms part of a broader push to engage communities, improve legal literacy, and reduce drug-related crimes across the region.

The seminar provided employees with clear strategies to recognise and prevent drug risks among young people. Astana Police will continue rolling out similar initiatives under the Law and Order programme. Future sessions will target more workplaces and community groups as part of the city’s long-term anti-drug plan.
