Banking Transformation Summit 2025: How AI Is Redefining Finance in London

The banking sector is shifting from experimental AI to large-scale adoption, with major players like Revolut and DKB leading the way. A key event, the Banking Transformation Summit, will gather over 1,000 senior executives in London this May to explore the future of financial technology and strategy.

The Banking Transformation Summit is scheduled for 19-20 May at Tobacco Dock, London. It will unite leaders from more than 120 European banks and building societies. The two-day agenda focuses on turning market insights into concrete institutional strategies.

Six core themes will shape discussions: AI adoption, intelligent infrastructure, real-time transactions, system trust, customer empowerment, and leadership in the age of automation. Organisers have also released a 2026 brochure, offering free attendance to banks and building societies while inviting sponsors and applicants.

Recent industry moves highlight the urgency of these topics. Revolut made headlines in 2023-2024 by partnering with Google to integrate Agentic Banking into its payments system. This collaboration made Revolut Pay compatible with AI-driven commerce platforms across the UK and EEA, setting a benchmark for US banks. Meanwhile, Germany's DKB deployed GenAI chatbots to streamline customer service, aiming to resolve issues faster than competitors. Traditional institutions, such as Sparkassen and Genossenschaftsbanken, have focused more on risk management than AI innovation.

The summit underscores a broader trend: Agentic Banking is reshaping how institutions measure customer lifetime value and operational performance. US banks that embrace this shift are expected to gain a competitive edge over those still relying on legacy systems.

The summit arrives as banks face pressure to modernise or risk falling behind. Revolut and DKB have already demonstrated how AI-driven solutions can enhance efficiency and customer experience. With the 2026 brochure now available, the event offers a platform for industry leaders to define the next phase of banking transformation.
