Bhopal braces for scheduled power cuts on 31 May 2026

The electricity department has announced scheduled power cuts across multiple areas in Bhopal on 31 May 2026. Different neighbourhoods will face outages at varying times for maintenance, upgrades, and metro construction work. Residents have been advised to plan accordingly for the disruptions.

The longest shutdowns will affect areas under the SSTD Scheme, where conductor replacements are taking place. From 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM, Ashoka Garden, Shahanshah Garden, Amrit Complex, Pragati Nagar, Subhash Colony, Saubhagya Nagar, and Sundar Nagar will remain without electricity. These upgrades aim to improve the reliability of local power distribution.

Shorter outages are planned for other parts of the city. Kawadi, Croma, D-Mart, Pacific Blue, Indian Coffee House, Sheesham, and surrounding areas will experience a two-hour cut from 08:00 AM to 10:00 AM for line maintenance. Mansarover Complex and nearby locations will face a two-hour shutdown from 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM due to pole erection work. Meanwhile, metro construction will disrupt supply in several zones. Firdos Nagar, Shitla Nagar, Nishatpura, Shri Nagar, Shardar Nagar, Nariyal Kheda, Berasia Road, Bafna Colony, and Green Park Colony will have no power from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM. Ambar Complex and its vicinity will also see a four-hour outage during the same period for pole erection.

The planned shutdowns cover a wide range of activities, from infrastructure upgrades to metro development. Affected residents should prepare for the specified durations, as power will be restored only after the scheduled work is completed. The electricity department has urged people to take necessary precautions during the outages.
