Bitget unveils new maker fee tiers to enhance liquidity and trade execution

Bitget, the world's largest Universal Exchange (UEX), has rolled out a new group-based maker rate structure. The changes apply to both spot and futures trading pairs. The exchange aims to boost liquidity and improve how trades are executed on its platform.

The updated fee system came into force on March 4, 2026, between 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM (UTC+8). It introduces three market groups—Group A, Group B, and Group C—each with different maker rebates. These rebates now range from -0.012% to 0.000% for spot trading and -0.008% to 0.000% for futures, depending on the group and the trader's market maker tier (MM1 to MM5).

Bitget has also revised how it evaluates market makers. The new framework includes group-weighted performance metrics and stricter bid-ask spread requirements. The goal is to encourage tighter spreads and deeper order books across all trading pairs. The exchange has not released specific details on tier thresholds or exact pair classifications. Traders are advised to check Bitget's official channels for the latest fee schedules and eligibility criteria.

The new structure is designed to attract more liquidity providers and refine trade execution. By adjusting rebates and performance measures, Bitget expects tighter spreads and a more efficient market. The changes took effect in early March, with further updates likely to follow.
