Bolt rolls out fuel savings and vouchers for Portugal's drivers
Bolt has launched a new scheme to help its drivers in Portugal cope with rising fuel costs. The initiative introduces year-round fuel savings and additional vouchers for eligible drivers. The move aims to ease financial pressure on those working in the ride-hailing sector. The programme comes as fuel prices continue to push up operational expenses for private transport across the country. Bolt's General Manager for Portugal, Mário de Morais, explained that the company is looking for ways to better support its partner drivers.
Drivers who complete over 250 kilometres on Bolt trips between now and April 5 will automatically receive a voucher. Those with the highest number of trips during this period will get priority. The voucher grants a €25 credit, which can be redeemed by entering a promotional code in the Ryd app.
The Ryd app allows drivers to refuel and pay for fuel without leaving their vehicle. This new measure adds to Bolt's existing fuel discounts, offering further relief. Currently, 43% of vehicles in Portugal's ride-hailing fleet are electric, which helps reduce reliance on traditional fuels.
Bolt has also reminded drivers to plan their schedules carefully and take regular breaks for safety. The scheme provides immediate financial support through fuel savings and vouchers. Eligible drivers can combine these benefits to cut costs further. Bolt's partnership with Ryd aims to simplify refuelling and ease the impact of rising prices on its workforce.
