Bridgewater bets big on NVIDIA as AI-driven growth reshapes its portfolio

Bridgewater Associates has significantly boosted its stake in NVIDIA, making the tech giant its largest single holding. The move comes as the fund adjusts its portfolio under the leadership of co-CIOs Greg Jensen, Bob Prince, and Karen Karniol-Tambour. Meanwhile, NVIDIA's market value has surged, reinforcing its dominance in the AI sector.

In the fourth quarter of 2025, Bridgewater increased its NVIDIA holdings by 54.01%, bringing their total stake to around $720.86 million. This decision aligns with the fund's long-term confidence in AI and cutting-edge technology. At the same time, the firm trimmed its positions in Microsoft and Alphabet while expanding investments in Amazon and Adobe.

NVIDIA's market capitalisation climbed from roughly 3.81 billion EUR (about 4.1 trillion USD) in late February 2026 to 4.43 trillion USD by March 3, 2026. The rise followed strong quarterly earnings and positive analyst upgrades, further validating Bridgewater's strategy.

Though founder Ray Dalio no longer manages the fund day-to-day, his advisory role continues to shape Bridgewater's investment approach. The current leadership, including CEO Nir Bar Dea, maintains a focus on adapting to shifting market conditions.

Bridgewater's expanded NVIDIA stake underscores its bet on AI-driven growth. The fund's portfolio adjustments reflect a calculated response to evolving tech and market trends. With NVIDIA's valuation reaching new highs, the move positions Bridgewater to capitalise on the sector's continued expansion.
