Over 350 deaf individuals from 32 countries gathered in Lloret de Mar, Spain, for the 6th World Deaf Assemblies of God Conference (WDAG). The main event, held from 4 to 11 October, celebrated faith and unity in Christ across diverse cultures and languages. Organisers highlighted the conference as a powerful display of inclusivity in worship and fellowship.
The WDAG conference centred on the theme 'Rivers of Living Water', exploring topics such as the Holy Spirit and the gospel commission. Attendees engaged in worship, teaching sessions, and shared experiences, all conducted in multiple sign languages. American, French, Spanish, International, Japanese, Italian, Estonian, Russian, and Korean sign languages were all used throughout the event.
Following the WDAG conference, participants had the option to attend the Assemblies of God World Congress in Madrid. Organisers emphasised that the gathering was more than just a meeting—it was a celebration of God's work among deaf communities worldwide. The event reinforced the message that faith transcends hearing ability, nationality, and gender.
No official count of countries represented at the Madrid congress has been released. However, the WDAG conference itself drew a wide international presence, showcasing the global reach of the movement.
The conference concluded with a strong sense of unity among attendees, despite their diverse backgrounds. Multiple sign languages were used, ensuring everyone could fully participate in worship and discussions. The event's success underscored the growing recognition of deaf communities within the global Assemblies of God movement.
