EnBW has expanded its fleet and charging infrastructure as part of a broader push toward electrification. The company now manages around 5,400 vehicles—up from 3,600 in 2015—while installing over 1,400 charging points across 135 locations. This growth reflects changes in procurement, regional focus, and the shift to electric mobility.

The company's fleet has evolved significantly since 2009. Back then, vehicles were spread more evenly across Germany, with around 25% operating in northern states like Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein. Today, over 60% of the fleet is concentrated in Baden-Württemberg, particularly around Stuttgart, with Bavaria—especially the Munich area—hosting the next largest share. Meanwhile, representation in northern regions has dropped to under 10%.

This regional shift aligns with EnBW's focus on renewable energy projects and decentralised work. About 20% of the fleet now operates outside Baden-Württemberg, supporting operations in other states. The company has also adjusted its infrastructure, closing five of its in-house workshops since 2009 while keeping two active for specialty vehicle maintenance.

To support electrification, EnBW invests around two million euros annually in expanding its AC charging network. The 1,400 charging points serve company cars, service vehicles, pool vehicles, and even employees' private electric cars. Beyond workplace charging, the strategy includes home charging solutions with billing integration and the EnBW Mobility charging card for public use.

Norman Scheck and Vanessa Hindinger oversee mobility management and services, leading teams of 22 and 10 respectively. Their work ensures new battery-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles are deployed efficiently as fleet needs change.

EnBW's fleet now stands at roughly 5,400 vehicles, with charging infrastructure and regional distribution reshaped by electrification. The company continues to invest in mobility solutions, balancing growth with consolidation. By 2025, the focus on Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria will remain central to its operations.
