Fortis Hospital Kalyan's Emergency Department Gets a Lifesaving 20-Year Upgrade
Fortis Hospital Kalyan has unveiled its newly upgraded Emergency Department after two decades of service. The facility now stands as one of the region’s most advanced emergency care centres, equipped with cutting-edge technology and specialised treatment areas.
The hospital also launched **Code QRT 2.0**, a network linking 15 key hospitals in Kalyan-Dombivali to improve emergency response times and patient outcomes.
The upgraded department features four emergency beds, a negative pressure isolation room, and resuscitation bays with continuous cardiac monitoring, ventilation, and defibrillation. A digital triage system and real-time bed management dashboard help streamline patient care.
Over the past 20 years, the department has handled more than 60,000 emergencies. Cases included 33% medical, 31% cardiac, 24% surgical, and 12% neurological conditions. Performance metrics show door-to-balloon times as low as **28 minutes** for heart attack patients—far below the global 90-minute benchmark. For stroke cases, the team achieved a door-to-needle time of **15 minutes**. The launch of **Code QRT 2.0** aims to ensure no critical patient misses timely treatment within the golden hour. By coordinating with 15 hospitals in the region, the network strengthens emergency care access for local communities.
The upgrades and new initiative reinforce Fortis Hospital Kalyan’s role as a leader in emergency medicine. With faster response times and expanded capabilities, the hospital plans to maintain its commitment to the community for the next 20 years. The focus remains on saving lives through rapid, high-quality care.
