Goslar will introduce a trial 30 km/h speed limit zone on two key streets starting April 9. The scheme covers Ohlhofbreite and Kurt-Schumacher-Allee in the Ohlhof district. Officials hope the change will improve safety and quality of life for residents. The six-month trial removes the affected roads from the priority network. Instead, drivers must follow the rechts vor links rule, giving way to traffic from the right. The city aims to reduce average speeds to 36 km/h, known as the V85 level.

No speed cameras or enforcement will be used during the test period. Goslar has asked all road users to stay alert and show extra consideration. Regular traffic surveys will track the zone's impact on speeds and behaviour. The project has broad support from local residents, the Ohlhof neighbourhood association, and the city council. Authorities will review the data before deciding on any permanent changes.

The trial begins on April 9 and runs for six months. If successful, the lower speed limit could become permanent. The city plans to use survey results to guide future decisions on road safety in the area.
