Grevenbroich alters public services for 2026 Carnival festivities

Grevenbroich has announced changes to public services during the 2026 Carnival celebrations. Several city offices and facilities will close or adjust their hours on key dates, including Altweiberfastnacht and Rose Monday. Residents are advised to plan ahead for limited access to municipal services.

The Citizen Services Office and city administration will shut completely on Thursday, February 12 (Altweiberfastnacht) and Rose Monday. No appointments will be available on these days. Normal operations will only resume on Tuesday, February 17.

The Villa Erckens Museum will remain closed for an extended period, from Altweiberfastnacht through to the following Sunday. Meanwhile, the City Library will open briefly on Altweiberfastnacht, operating from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Municipal daycare centres will also close on Rose Monday. Parents affected by this change will receive direct notifications. City Hall and other municipal facilities will run under modified hours during Carnival, though no specific details for individual locations have been released.

Rose Monday has been confirmed as a non-working day for all city employees in Grevenbroich.

The adjustments mean limited access to public services for several days. Residents needing urgent assistance should check the city's official updates or contact relevant offices before the closures begin. Daycare parents and library visitors are encouraged to confirm arrangements in advance.
