A severely injured swan named Grisha found a new home after being rescued last winter. The bird arrived at the Shyshlankouskis family's yard with frostbitten legs and wings. Under their care, he has since made a full recovery and now lives permanently with the household. Grisha's ordeal began in late December 2025 when he was discovered in Zhlobin with serious injuries. Veterinarian Ryhor Bialiahou performed surgery to treat his frostbite and nursed him back to health. Once stable, the swan was taken in by Liubou Iosifauna and her family, who have since provided daily care.

The Shyshlankouskis' yard now houses five swans, including Grisha. Liubou feeds them a balanced diet of oats, barley, wheat, mixed grain, and fresh vegetables. While Nyusha and Vanyusha, two other rescued swans, will soon return to the wild, Grisha has never left the family's side. Another swan, Glafira, remains with the household, but concerns exist about her future. Experts warn that removing her could cause stress for Grisha, who has grown deeply attached to his adoptive home.

Grisha's recovery marks a success for both veterinary care and the Shyshlankouskis' dedication. The swan now thrives in a safe environment, with no plans for release. His story highlights the challenges of rehabilitating injured wildlife—and the bonds that can form between animals and their rescuers.
