Habarovsk's New Workshop Trains Next-Gen Aircraft Engineers with Cutting-Edge Tech
A new production and education workshop for training aircraft engineers has opened in Habarovsk. Located at the Prommash plant, the facility aims to strengthen the region’s aerospace industry by combining practical skills with advanced technology. Funding came from private investors and a grant from Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The workshop provides future specialists with access to cutting-edge equipment. This includes a vacuum furnace for heat treatment in inert gas environments, a CNC lathe, and high-performance computers for designing aircraft components. The computer lab also allows students to simulate large-scale production and optimise manufacturing techniques.
Andrey Slobodenyuk, head of the Regional Engineering Center, oversees the project. The training programme focuses on closing the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world engineering challenges. By offering hands-on experience, it prepares engineers for the specific demands of the aerospace sector. The initiative supports the region’s push for greater technological independence in aircraft manufacturing. It ensures that locally trained professionals can meet industry standards without relying on external expertise.
The new facility in Habarovsk will train engineers using modern tools and practical methods. Its opening marks a step toward self-sufficiency in aircraft production for the region. The project’s success will depend on continued investment and the integration of skilled graduates into the workforce.
