IONOS launches €60M share buyback as AI-driven growth accelerates
IONOS has launched a new €60 million share buyback programme, sending its stock price up by nearly 1.8%. The move comes as the company strengthens its focus on AI-driven growth, aiming to transform from an infrastructure provider into a full-service partner for small and mid-sized businesses.
The programme will start in the coming days and could run until August 25, 2026, with plans to repurchase up to 2.2 million shares—around 1.6% of its total share capital. The buyback initiative will help cover obligations tied to employee stock ownership plans. It reflects IONOS's broader strategy to enhance shareholder value while investing heavily in AI innovation.
At the same time, the company is rolling out Momentum, a modular AI ecosystem designed to increase revenue per user. This includes tools like an AI phone assistant, an AI-powered CRM system, and automated content creation software. The goal is to attract new customers and upsell to its existing base of 6.63 million users.
IONOS has also reaffirmed its financial targets for 2026. The company expects around 7% currency-adjusted revenue growth this year, alongside an EBITDA margin of 37–38%. Over the medium term, it aims for annual revenue growth of 10% and an EBITDA margin of 40%.
Investors responded positively to the announcement, with shares briefly climbing to €25.15 after the news broke. The buyback programme will operate under market conditions, with flexibility to adjust based on performance and demand. The €60 million buyback programme underscores IONOS's confidence in its financial position and long-term strategy. With AI at the core of its growth plans, the company is positioning itself to expand revenue streams while maintaining strong profitability targets. The programme's launch marks another step in its shift toward becoming a more integrated service provider for businesses.
