A 52-year-old man has been arrested following the murder of an elderly woman in Taman Desa Aman, Ipoh. The incident took place on May 4, with police estimating it occurred between 4.45pm and 10.00pm that evening. Authorities confirmed the victim was found dead at the scene by medical officers. The suspect and the victim lived in the same neighbourhood but had no prior relationship. Investigators discovered several beer cans near the suspect at the crime scene. His blood sample has since been sent for testing to determine his level of alcohol intoxication during the attack.
The suspect’s history includes psychiatric treatment at Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta (HBUK). While the motive remains unclear, police are examining all possible angles. The victim was discovered lying motionless before being declared dead by responding medical personnel.
