Israel and U.S. Sign Historic 10-Year Space Cooperation Deal

Israel and the United States have signed a major ten-year agreement to deepen space cooperation. The deal, valid until 2035, was finalised in Washington by Israel’s Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Gila Gamliel. A key goal is to send the first Israeli woman into space as part of the country’s next national space vision. The agreement was signed during Gamliel’s visit to Washington, where she met with NASA officials. Discussions focused on joint scientific and technological projects, with NASA seen as Israel’s natural partner for future space missions.

Gamliel highlighted the importance of the mission, calling it a landmark for education and public engagement in Israel. She also stressed that Israel’s future in space relies on creating new models of excellence through this partnership. The U.S. has expressed strong confidence in Israel’s expertise in space exploration. The long-term deal reflects a shared commitment to advancing joint research and technological breakthroughs over the next decade.

The agreement sets a clear path for Israel’s expanding role in space, with NASA’s support. Sending the first Israeli woman into space remains a top priority under the new plan. Both nations will now work together on scientific and technological projects until at least 2035.
