Kazakhstan Debuts AI-Powered Virtual Assistant for Faster Statistical Data Access

The Bureau of National Statistics of Kazakhstan, known as Qazstat, has launched AI Stat, a new AI-powered virtual assistant. The tool aims to simplify access to statistical data by providing quick, automated responses to user queries. Officials describe it as a major step in the country’s push for digital transformation in public services. AI Stat was first tested in April 2026 before being refined based on feedback from early users. The assistant now operates in two languages, with plans to add an English version in the future.

Designed as a first-line support system, AI Stat reduces pressure on human operators and speeds up responses for businesses and citizens. Users interact with it conversationally, receiving step-by-step guidance for data searches and navigation. The tool can generate lists of required statistical forms using a business identification number (BIN) or individual identification number (IIN). It also helps select OKED activity codes and, when necessary, redirects complex inquiries to the call centre. The assistant is fully integrated into Qazstat’s digital ecosystem, combining consultation, data navigation, and reporting support in one interface. Maksat Turlybbaev, head of the bureau, highlighted that AI Stat eliminates the need to navigate complicated service structures, delivering answers in just a few clicks. The development of AI Stat reflects Kazakhstan’s broader strategy to incorporate artificial intelligence into government services, making data more accessible and reducing administrative burdens.

AI Stat is now available to users, offering faster and more efficient access to statistical information. The bureau expects the tool to streamline reporting processes and improve service delivery across public and private sectors. Further updates, including additional language support, are planned for future releases.
