A poorly maintained road in Khabarovsk has led to legal action against the city's administration. Tselinnaya Street was found with deep potholes, uneven surfaces and missing road markings during a routine check. Authorities have now been ordered to fix the issues after failing to act on earlier warnings.

The problems on Tselinnaya Street first came to light during an inspection by the Khabarovsk Transport Prosecutor's Office. Officials noted severe damage, including subsidence, large potholes and the complete absence of road markings. Despite these findings, the city administration did not take steps to address the violations.

The prosecutor's office formally requested the mayor to repair the road, but no action followed. As a result, legal proceedings were launched against the administration for neglecting its duties. The court later ruled in favour of the prosecutor, declaring the city's inaction unlawful and mandating immediate repairs.

Work on the road is now underway, with oversight from the prosecutor's office to ensure compliance. Local authorities announced in early 2026 that the project would be finished by the end of summer that year. Once completed, the road should meet all legal safety and quality standards.

The court's decision forces the city to restore Tselinnaya Street after years of neglect. Repairs are scheduled for completion by late summer 2026, bringing the road up to required standards. The prosecutor's office will continue monitoring progress to prevent further delays.
