Lexus TZ Debuts as a Three-Row Electric SUV with Lounge-Like Comfort

Lexus has unveiled its first three-row battery electric SUV, the all-new TZ. Designed as a mobile living space, the vehicle combines smooth electric performance with a spacious, lounge-like cabin for all passengers. The model is set to arrive in local markets by early 2027, with full specifications to be released later.

The TZ is built on a dedicated BEV platform, shaped around Lexus’ 'Driving Lounge' concept. Engineers focused on refinement through the brand’s Aji-migaki programme, tuning the SUV for composed handling, quietness, and aerodynamic efficiency. A low centre of gravity and a wide, slim panoramic roof enhance stability and cabin openness.

Inside, the TZ prioritises long-distance comfort, using sustainable materials like forged bamboo and recycled aluminium. Lexus has integrated hardware, software, and audio technologies to create a soothing environment for all three rows. The cabin’s high levels of quietness further reinforce its relaxed, lounge-like feel. Andrew Davis, Vice President of Lexus New Zealand, highlighted the model’s smooth driving experience and meticulous refinement. The TZ aims to redefine electric SUV travel by blending performance with a calmer, more spacious interior.

The Lexus TZ is scheduled for a local launch in early 2027, with additional technical details to follow. Its combination of electric driving dynamics, premium cabin comfort, and sustainable design sets it apart in the three-row SUV market.
