Lost Iranian student found unharmed after disappearing in Almaty's Kokzhailau gorge

A tourist has been found safe after going missing in Almaty’s Kokzhailau gorge. The man, an Iranian student, lost contact with his group during a descent on Monday. Search teams later located him unharmed on a mountainside below the trail.

The incident began when the student fell behind his group while hiking down from the gorge. Concerned fellow hikers alerted local rescuers, who launched a search operation in the area.

After several hours, the team spotted the man asleep on a steep slope below the main path. He showed no signs of injury and refused medical assistance. Rescuers then guided him safely back to the trailhead.

The tourist was reunited with his group without further complications. Authorities confirmed he suffered no harm from the ordeal. The search operation concluded after his safe return.
