Manner Debuts First All-Electric Truck for Greener Factory Logistics

Austrian confectioner Manner has begun using its first all-electric truck for daily factory logistics. The vehicle, a MAN eTGX, will transport raw materials between production sites in Vienna and Wolkersdorf. This move marks a step toward cutting transport emissions and improving sustainability in the company’s supply chain. The electric truck operates mainly on renewable electricity. Power comes from both external green energy suppliers and Manner’s own photovoltaic panels. With 330 kilowatts (449 horsepower), the vehicle is wrapped in Manner’s well-known branding.

The Vienna–Wolkersdorf route demonstrates how electric trucks can change regional distribution. The company expects lower CO₂ emissions and reduced noise pollution along the way. Beyond factory logistics, Manner is testing the truck for other uses, aiming to expand its operational role. MAN Truck & Bus, the manufacturer, reported €14.1 billion in revenue for 2025 and employs around 32,000 people globally. Manner has already secured funding for a second electric tractor unit. Plans also include adding a 7.5-tonne electric delivery truck for urban distribution in the near future.

The introduction of the electric truck aligns with Manner’s goal of reducing transport emissions. Further expansion of its electric fleet is already underway. These changes will support the company’s shift toward a more sustainable energy supply chain.
