Mexico City now offers Saturday services for driver's licences and vehicle paperwork

Mexico City’s Mobility Secretariat (SEMOVI) has expanded its services to include Saturdays at 13 centres across the capital. The move aims to offer more flexibility for residents needing driver’s licences, vehicle registrations, and other key documents. Both fixed and mobile units will now operate on weekends from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The new weekend service covers a range of essential procedures. Residents can now apply for driver’s licences, renew vehicle registrations, replace circulation cards, and obtain driving permits. These tasks were previously limited to weekdays.

Four fixed locations will provide the services. These include Av. Andrés Molina Enríquez in San Andrés Tetepilco (Iztapalapa), Av. Insurgentes Sur #263 in Roma Norte (Cuauhtémoc), Av. Municipio Libre #314 in Emperadores (Benito Juárez), and Cto. Int. Melchor Ocampo #193 in Verónica Anzures (Miguel Hidalgo). In addition, nine mobile units will be stationed at different points. These include Av. Universidad #936 in Santa Cruz Atoyac (Benito Juárez), Jesús García #50 in Buenavista (Cuauhtémoc), and Calz. Chabacano #43 in Asturias (Cuauhtémoc). Other mobile sites are Enrique Contel #361 in Chinampac de Juárez (Iztapalapa), Av. Nextengo #78 in Santa Cruz Acayucan (Azcapotzalco), El Zarco Av. 510 #1 in Pueblo de San Juan de Aragón (Gustavo A. Madero), La Viga #1381 in El Retoño (Iztapalapa), Calz. de Tláhuac #5662 in San Lorenzo Tezonco (Tláhuac), and Calz. Acoxpa #436 in Ex Hacienda Coapa (Tlalpan).

The expanded Saturday hours give residents more options to complete mobility-related paperwork. With 13 centres now open on weekends, SEMOVI expects to reduce wait times and improve access to essential services. The initiative follows growing demand for flexible scheduling in the city.
