Nizhny Novgorod school forges shipbuilding partnership at key engineering summit

Teachers from School No. 183 in Nizhny Novgorod have taken part in a major conference on engineering education. The event, held in Severodvinsk, focused on strengthening ties between schools and industry. Educators from the school also signed a new partnership with a leading shipbuilding company during the gathering. The 'Building Russia's Engineering Potential' conference brought together representatives from 15 regions. Delegates discussed ways to improve technical training for students. Among them were teachers from Nizhny Novgorod's School No. 183, who presented their experience with specialised engineering classes.

The school already collaborates with industry leaders, having recently hosted the Shipbuilding Olympiad organised by Sevmash. This latest agreement formalises deeper cooperation between the institution and the production association. As part of the visit, attendees toured Sevmash's facilities and witnessed submarine construction firsthand. School No. 183 is part of the Sormovo District's educational shipbuilding cluster. The cluster connects multiple schools with industrial partners to promote hands-on technical learning. The new partnership aims to expand these opportunities for students in Nizhny Novgorod.

The cooperation deal will provide School No. 183 with greater access to industrial expertise and resources. Students will benefit from more practical training linked to shipbuilding and engineering. The agreement reflects ongoing efforts to bridge education and real-world technical skills.
