Peugeot's refreshed Rifter debuts with electric power and smart tech upgrades
Peugeot has updated its Rifter lineup with new engine choices, extra features, and an all-electric variant. The refreshed range now includes diesel, petrol, and fully electric models, catering to different driving needs. Pricing starts at €26,670 for the base petrol version, while the electric E-Rifter begins at €38,220.
The latest Rifter also introduces advanced technology, such as bidirectional charging and improved driver-assistance systems.
The new Rifter offers three powertrain options. The base diesel model delivers 75 kW and starts at €27,270, while the 81 kW turbo petrol version begins at €26,670. Both come with a six-speed manual transmission and meet the Euro 6e-bis emissions standard, making them suitable for long-distance travel.
The fully electric E-Rifter produces 100 kW (136 hp) and provides a WLTP range of up to 339 kilometres. Priced from €38,220, it includes an 11 kW bidirectional charger as standard, allowing power to flow back to the grid or home. The system also prepares the vehicle for Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling devices to be powered directly from the car.
Inside, the Rifter now offers greater flexibility with an optional three-seat second row. Higher trim levels, such as the Allure, come with a driver attention alert system featuring a monitoring camera. Optional extras include heated front seats, an i-Connect Advanced infotainment system, and paddle shifters for smoother gear changes.
Bidirectional charging has grown in popularity since 2024, with brands like Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, and Kia offering it on select models. Despite its benefits for energy management and cost savings, adoption remains limited due to infrastructure gaps and varying market standards.
The updated Peugeot Rifter now provides more engine choices, improved technology, and flexible seating options. The electric E-Rifter stands out with its bidirectional charging capability, though wider adoption depends on infrastructure development. The new models are available now, with pricing starting from €26,670 for the petrol variant.
