Primorsky Krai braces for extreme wildfire risk on May 12–13

A high forest fire risk has been declared across much of Primorsky Krai for May 12 and 13. Authorities warn that even a single spark could trigger a major wildfire in the region under current conditions. The Level 4 (high) fire danger will affect 17 districts, including Khankaysky, Ussuriysky, and Oktyabrsky. Pogranichny, Khorolsky, and Chernigovsky are also under alert, along with Spassky, Anuchinsky, and Yakovlevsky. The warning extends to Chuguyevsky, Krasnoarmeysky, Lesozavodsky, Kirovsky, Dalnerechensky, Terneysky, Kavalerovsky, and Dalnegorsky.

Open fires have been banned across the region to reduce risks. Residents must ensure cigarette butts and matches are fully extinguished before disposal. Officials stress that any careless spark could lead to a severe forest fire during these critical days. The fire risk remains in place until May 13, with strict precautions required.
