Russia's 2024 high school graduates get extra exam retake opportunities

This year’s high school graduates will start their Unified State Exam (USE) on June 1. The schedule includes extra chances for those who need to retake key subjects or miss their original test date.

Students in their final year can retake exams in Russian, mathematics, and one optional subject. These retakes are allowed if they fail to meet the minimum passing score, fall ill, or cannot complete the exam on the first attempt.

Reserve dates for all subjects have been set for June 22–25. For those needing to improve an optional subject before university admission, another opportunity is available on July 8–9. The exam board ensures that anyone with a valid reason for missing their test can take it on one of the later dates. This system gives students more flexibility in meeting their graduation requirements.

The revised schedule provides clear backup options for graduates facing difficulties. Retakes in core subjects and optional exams will help students secure their results before moving on to higher education.
